I need major computer help!!?

my computer wont let me go to stand by... it tells me that some update or program is keeping it from shutting down... it's Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1.4322 update.... do i need this on my computer?? should i delete it all together or what?? i'm so lost! i tried to go through the repair application for this program..but that still doesnt work... help me PLEASE!!!

You are not the only one experiencing this problem. Yet another "oops" brought to you by the fine folks over in Redmond.

Your best bet is to kill the process either via ctrl-alt-delete, or download sysinternals process explorer to kill it (hurry %26amp; download this great tool MS owns it now %26amp; will more than likely trash it like everything else they touch).

You can also permanently turn off the update service by going into your administrative services folder in your control panel. a great tutorial on how to turn off unneeded services is by blackviper - google the name. You'll be surprised at how much faster your pc will run with all the unnecessary services running.

Then wait for the patch to be released by MS to fix this issue.

search for that problem on microsoft's website, thats a strange error, it could also be a virus, i cant remember the last time i had an update for the .net framework
