Can't remove .NET Framework 3.0?

I've been trying to remove the .NET 3.0 Framework from my Windows XP SP2

From add/remove programs, I get the following message:

"Problem has been encountered while loading the setup components"

I tried the removal tool for .net 3.0 from Microsoft, it didn't work neither.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help.
