I am cleaning up my computer and need to know about some programs.?

I was in add/delete programs and there are a few programs that i don't know what they are or what they do. Can anyone tell me what they are and if i need to keep them on my computer?

1. Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1

2. Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 Hotfix

3. Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0

4. Windows Installer 3.1

My Computer is installed with WindowsXP professional, if that makes any difference.

I also use windows XP pro, and the only program I have that is from your answer is the windows installer 3.1, and I removed it once and had nothing but problems, so in regards to that, I would leave it just in case it happens to you, hope someone else can help out with the other three

Don't delete any of these! The .net framework is an add-on to Windows to allow some programs to run. If you delete these then some of yr applications will not function. Look here:
