when i go to sounds and device properties %26amp; click on the hardware tab all of the following is said to be working properly

audio codecs
legacy audio drivers
media control divices
legacy video capture devices
video codecs
but their location is unknown
when i go to the volume tab it says no audio device.
how is this possible %26amp; what can i do to restore it or add it to my settings? i tried to troubleshoot %26amp; it doesnt work. all i keep getting is two windows that remain on my desktop. one is windows installing and it never closes out and its stuck on preparing to install. the other is a window that states microsoft. NET Framework it reads an unhandled exception has occured in a componet in your application. click continue and application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. object reference not set to an instance of an object. but when i click on continue it just keeps popping back up and never closes. how can i get rid of this? any ideas?

This is an actual desktop pc? Not a laptop?
If so the only place the built in speakers could be is in your monitor.
Meaning if you have no speakers in your monitor, you have to go out and buy some!
If you do have the speakers in your monitor, do a websearch for AC97 and downlad and install the codecs. This should fix your problem!

do you just install a new os, if so reinstall the os and you should be straight.
