Can I remove multiple things from my computer?

Like I have some things on my computer and they all say the exact same thing except for that they are either 6, 7, 8 or 9 updates.

So is it ok for me to delete stuff like that or what?

Like for instance I have firefox 2.0.0.1 and 2.0.0.2.

Java Updates that run that go up to 11 and have to 6.

Microsoft .NET framework updates and some are 1.1 but I have 3.0?

So can I delete these or will this make my computer not run properly?

First, make sure these aren't just shortcuts. Shortcuts can be deleted easily.

Next don't delete programs. UNINSTALL them. Go to the Control Panel and use the Add/Remove Programs icon to find duplicates and UNINSTALL them.

Before you do this, make sure you have the file to RE-Install the version y ou want, just in case there is a problem.

First, these are versions of software installed on your computer, so never delete them. You can try uninstalling a version of one at a time and see if it hangs your computer. But, like the first answer said, be ready to re-install this if your computer balks. Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs. Click on the Show updates box at the top, and when the list loads, scroll down to see what it shows. If, say, Microsoft .Net shows versions 1.1 up to 3.0, try uninstalling 1.1. Close the control panel and restart the computer. If nothing goes wrong, try another one. Do only one at a time, because if you try two or three and something goes haywire, you won't know which removal caused it.

Unless your computer is really cramped for disk space and these versions are taking up a lot of that, there is no good reason to remove these. We all have multiple versions of a lot of the software we use, but they usually cause no problem.
