1. Go into your services and stop windows Automatic updates

2. In your C:\Windows directory find and delete this log file WindowsUpdate.log

3. In your C:\windows directory find and delete all folders that start with $, for example $NTUninstallKB8964284

4. You can also delete anything in the C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution directory %26amp; the C:\WINDOWS\system32\SoftwareDistribution directory

5. Go to Microsoft update manually and attempt these patches again.

Hello there,

windows xp service pack 2 updates didn't stop who told you that

just try to reinstall them again or you can go to this site http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

and download them again....

hope I helped..

bye
download this http://www.autopatcher.com/files/apup.zi... extract all contents in a folder in your harddrive. it is the new autopatcher. click on the apup application, then check on the updates you want to download. for windows xp and office 2003, i have downloaded about 900mb of files. what is good about this program is that you can save the updates in a harddrive, and you wouldn't download it over and over again. it is also a great tool for reformatting and reinstalling everything from scratch. when the downloading finishes, click on the autopatcher application.

it is updating windows without your os hooking up to microsoft.
