How do I close these two message boxes on my computer?

Not sure what caused this....but I have two small boxes on my computer screen that will not go away no matter what I do. Even restarting the computer does not help. The first is a Microsoft.NET Framework box. It says: An unhandled exception has occured in a component in your application. Click continue(which does not work) and application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Object reference not set to an instance of an object. The next is a Document Viewer box. It says: Please wait while Windows configures Document Viewer. Then underneath it says time remaining 1 second. If I try to close these two boxes with Task Mananger, it opens 25 or more Task Managers. Weird! I've tried everything I can think of....I hope someone has a solution for me. Thanks!

try uninstalling the microsoft .net framework in add/remove programs. You can install it back if you wish from microsoft updates page.
