I have a Windows XP laptop and since a couple days ago it refuses to turn off properly. When i press the shutdown button at the start menu it goes to the part where it says "Windows is shutting down" then blacks out for a split second and shows a blue screen with a bunch of numbers and words, like an error or something. then the laptop turns on right after the blue screen and starts Windows again. When it's all loaded up there's a message that says "your computer has recovered from a serious error" is there anyway i can fix this? also it won't let me go into standby mode. when i click standby it says "The service 'Microsoft .NET Framework v1.14322 Update' is preventing the machine from entering standby. Try stopping this service and try again." how can i fix this standby problem also?
My laptop won't turn off!?ie 6

My laptop won't turn off!?windows vista internet explorer
What I will suggest you to do is that work in safe mode. Try to recall what were the last few things that u have done to the computer... Installing a new software or adding a hardware... something that has been done lately is the reason why ur computer is behaving like this...
Press F8 and then go into the safemode and then uninstall if it is a software or if it is hardware then remove it and start...
Also watch the message.. Does it looks something like UNMOUNTABLE DRIVE then most probably HDD corrupted..
