On what Windows operating system versions is the Microsoft .NET Framework included?

I would like to know where you will find the Microsoft .NET Framework installed in Windows by default. Without the .NET Framework, Windows programs created using Visual Studio .NET 2002 or later will not run. The framework version 1.0 corresponds to Studio 2002, version 1.1 corresponds to 2003, and version 2.0 corresponds to 2005. I have seen versions of the .NET Framework pre-installed on computers where Windows was included, but with the various Windows versions and configurations available I am not sure on what computers the .NET Framework would need to be installed as an add-on.

Specifically, I would like to know what versions of Windows XP (Home and Professional) include the .NET Framework without any additional downloads or installations, and how Windows releases that include pre-installed service packs (1 and 2) differ. Finally, I would like to know what specific version of the .NET Framework is included with the various Windows releases.

Version 1.0 belongs to VS.NET 2002 programs,version 1.1 belongs to VS.NET 2003 programs,version 2.0 belongs to Visual Studio 2005.Version 2.0 also belongs to Windows.

I think .NET is really going to be rolled-out and set as a standard witht the release of MicroSoft Vista.
you mean .NOT - too many issues still and it creates more problems than its worth. Wait 5 years.
