Did you try running Windows Updates? There is a new update for the Microsoft.NET Framework, perhaps that will fix it. If not you can uninstall the Microsoft.NET Framework from Add/Remove Programs (make sure and check Show Updates at the top)

Sometimes when you install the .net framework it installs other software and add ons, specially if you have installed it ussing Visual Studio for example, be sure to remove those components first, and then try to perform the uninstalation process again, you can see the components if there are any listed on start-control panel-add remove programs.

i have a 30gb zune and a 60gb ipod video.the zune is more user friendly considering how you can put your own pics and stuff as a wallpaper, but not as much memory.i have like, 7600 somthing songs on my ipod and barely half way full, so if you dont need more than 7000 songs, i would go fo the zune.(its kinda retarded how when you wirelessly transfer songs,you keep it for 3 plays or 3 days,cause if your close enough,you could just go to a computer and trade,but anyways...)it depends on how much money you got any what you need.

I have a Zune and like it. The screen is a bit bigger than ipod. I love that is has a radio and wireless capabilities. The biggest downfall is its size; way too bulky for pockets, sports etc. Also hard to find anyone to share files with since America is ipod territory.
I got a ZUNE last year as a Christmas present and my sister got an iPOD nano. I really like it because you can download music %26amp; media on it (for free at www.limewire.com or pay to do it thru Microsoft's "Marketplace.") The only thing I like better about the iPOD is its weight (its alot lighter) and its size (its alot smaller)...but then again I guess the ZUNE has to be bigger because you can view media on the screen. The graphics are good, its just like watching tv in the palm of your hand.
Also, you can buy other asseccories for it to listen to it at home (like a stereo player) or connect it to your stereo in the car and it stores over 100 hours of video and it has over 27.0 GB!
You can create playlists, put photos on it, wirelessly share music with someone else who has a ZUNE.
I like it! I just wish it was as light weight as the iPOD (don't get me wrong, though -its noy heavy...I'm just comparing it to the iPOD)!!
I've had a Zune since my 4th gen iPod died in January. Couldn't say enough good stuff about it-crystal clear display, the sound is great (though the EQ settings could use some tweaking), and it just feels more natural in-hand. (The people that said it's too heavy haven't had to deal with a 4th gen iPod!) :)

v2.0.50727 is the released version. Its just listed as v2.0 on the MS site.

You should be able to download Directx 9 (Why use version 8) and Windows installer directly from Microsoft. If not, search the web for another site that have the files. The ATI driver can be download from the ATI website.
EDIT: Sound like you have a problem with your video card. Check the card to see if it's tight in the slot. If you can boot into safe mode, try install the video card driver in that mode. It's also a good idea to install the Microsoft Net framework service pack for v1.1 too.

Cleaning off the .Net frameworks will likely not improve your performance. Defraging your hard drive and disabling or uninstalling unnecessary services will go a long way toward improving the performance. Everything depends on where your bottleneck in performance is, whether processor, memory or disk.

You actually do need both, as .NET is not completely backwards compatable. The chances of you needing 1.1 are kinda slim, but you may end up needing it for some older programs.

Without the .NET Framework, Windows programs created using Visual Studio .NET 2002 or later will not run. Sure, you can safely uninstall the previous versions. Though if you have them installed both on your system might cause to "waste" your uninstall by using it for .NET 1.1, so .NET 2.0 won't have an uninstall. It's same with other programs, had the same problem with skype 2.0 replacing it with ver. 2.5

You don't need to do anything now, you are already got updated. If any program in ur system will be needing frame work they will be using 3.0 now.

I'll bet you've heard "check the system requirements" a million times on things like this. The truth is, there is no surefire way to solve every problem. That's why Microsoft created the Knowledge Base, so that people would have answers to the most confusing and common questions. You know, that's your best bet, the Knowledge base. Try running the installation program again, but before you do, shut down any unnecessary programs (mainly the ones on your taskbar. I don't recommend shutting them down directly, since some programs save things on a regular basis and may be in the middle of something when you shut them down, which they'll attempt to finish prior to exiting. But if it doesn't respond, go to answersthatwork's process list at http://answersthatwork.com/ and find out what process it is (simple trial and error is generally the quickest way to find out) and THEN run the installer. There may have been a conflict with a running program. Then if the problem occurs again, write down the error message exactly as it appears and then click OK. Now go to Microsoft's support site and choose the knowledge base. type in the error code as you have it written down into the search text box, and then press enter. If this does not work, you can email me by clicking my name link and clicking the link to send me an e-mail. I would be happy to assist you. The dot Net framework installed on your computer is what allows newer programs to run. It is considered a prerequisite for any program written in the newer dot Net languages. When these dot NET programs are installed the installation program will either install a copy of the dot Net Framework on the computer or prompt you to install it in order to run the new software.
The good news is that once installed the dot Net framework is available to any dot NET program installed there after. THis simplifies and speeds up the deployment of software.
If you remove itno harm will come to your computer BUT you do risk temporarily breaking any software app which requires it. You can reinstall if needed or you will find that it gets installed when you install another program.
I do want mention that not all programs require it. Only those written in the newer microsoft DOT NET environment. So removing the framework will only break DOT NET based programs.

Microsoft has used the name ".NET", as a term covering many different purposes and projects, which can seem very confusing. The part that we care about is the programmer's framework. It is a nicely written set of libraries necessary for Life Balance to run on Windows. It is a new standard class library from Microsoft that they have been encouraging developers to use. This is similar in some respects to the Visual Basic Library that is often required to install Visual Basic applications. It is pre-installed on Vista, and installed by default if you run Windows Update manually under XP.
The Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 is a programming architecture/environment, kind of like Java (the coffee-cup that sometimes shows up in your taskbar). It is used by programmers to create anything from computer programs to web pages.
As for the safety of removing it, that is a tricky question. I think an important question to ask is, how did it get on your computer? Some programs rely on the .NET Framework in order to run properly. If you remember installing a program where it required you to then install the .NET Framework, uninstalling it could cause problems for that program.
These programs are not very common, however, and most programs like Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc) and Web Browsers (Firefox, Internet Explorer) do NOT require the .NET Framework.
My advice is that if you do not need the space on your computer, go ahead and leave it installed; however, if you are running out of space, try removing it. At the very least you can download and re-install it from Microsoft's website:

Occasionally, we find that some of our files on the computer are better for our particular applications than others. Fortunately, when doing our Windows Updates, it has the ability to read ahead and sees what all we have and then knows what to included or remove before uploading them to you. this can be caused by many different things happening - did you install new software that disabled your .net frame work - have you got infected - did you get a bad download
Any of these thing and more could be the reason
I suggest that first you scan your computer for viruses and spyware then download any secuity updates from microsoft using express mode, if this fails goto control panel administror tools - microsoft framwork wizard - fix an application - config.net

Here is EXACTLY what you do to solve this problem for Windows XP 32 bit. If you happen to have a rarer 64 bit version, server OS, or SOMETHING else follow the same general instructions but get the version of the files appropriate for your system but first, Microsoft has pissed me off beyond belief. I looked in my log and this same thing happened 6/2006...thanks MSFT for torturing us again this year. I thought it was a familiar feeling...nice branding...this is a huge humiliation for their .NET team in my opinion or perhaps we should start calling them the .NOT team...anyway....
Steps:
1) Go to the control panel and select the add/remove software tool then TRY and remove everything with .NET in the name. If you can remove everything go to step 3. If you cannot remove everything go to step 2.
2) Go and download the windows installer clean up tool at:

run the windows installer clean up tool and BE CAREFUL to only select the .NET items from the list and remove them. Note: this will likely leave the names as "dead links" in the Add/Remove Software list (ahhh ...Microsoft thoroughness at its best) but not to worry they will do no harm and will get fixed when we finish. It's possible to clean them up but let's stay out of the registry :-)
3) Go and get the file "dotnetfx.exe" this is ".NET 1.1" from:

install it.
4) Go and get the file "NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe" this is the ".NET 1.1 service pack 1" from: my personal website (JUST KIDDING, RELAX...get everything of course from a microsoft.com domain)

5) Install the SECURITY patch, the dreaded KB928366, we have all grown to hate. You can install it from the Windows Update program (be sure to ONLY select the KB928366 patch and NOTHING else, we dont want to put back 2.0 or 3.0 yet). It's OK go ahead and click ...it will be alright...you can do it...it's just one more time... :-)
6) Re-run the Windows Update and you can add back in .NET 2.0 and 3.0
7) Post to thank me...

In Add/Remove programs, it says I use it rarely..and it takes up tons of space. My computer has been running really slowly, and I'm trying to clean it up. I want to get it how it used to be, when it was fast %26amp; new. I know it's not my internet..I have a 'supposed to be' fast internet connection, and the problem is all the trash I can't find on my computer.
Also, is there a way to get rid of hidden things in my computer? Things that I don't know are there and that are taking up space?
Disk cleanup (idk) doesn't work for me..

Yes you need NET Framework.
As for getting rid of other junk, you might want to download CCleaner from www.ccleaner.com
It's free, and it gets rid of alot of useless, no longer used, dead registry keys, and files from your hard disk.

NET Framework 3 is mainly for Vista, so unless you NEED to install it the answer is no.
